First comeback stage in Korea for Map of the Soul: 7! (Prepare for the onslaught of videos over the next week. It's comeback season, which means promoting their new singles on all the Korean music shows.)
Quite frankly, this comeback might be my favourite of all the BTS comebacks. I literally say this with every album, but they consistently challenge themselves and somehow get more impressive and more creative with every single comeback, which is incredibly rare for a musical group that has been around for seven years. And I don't just mean more impressive with the music, but with the visuals, the choreography, the story, and the concepts.
We have "Black Swan," which is stunningly graceful and elegant but dark and melancholic, and then we have "ON," that's anthemic and badass with a ridiculously sexy fighter mentality. It's the same comeback, yet these two songs have such vastly different moods with entirely different sounds, and somehow connect together in the same overarching story. BTS are not just out-doing themselves with Map of the Soul: 7, but every one in the music industry. And I don't just mean K-pop.
(Okay, but also, sleeveless Jimin is OUT TO GET ME.)
