




Fam jam at Ding Tai Fung tonight 'cause I was craving xiao long bao. Quite frankly, I would've been totally fine with eating like, six baskets of those, but since my parents insist on well-rounded meals, I also chose Shanghai-style stir-fried rice cakes with shredded pork and cabbage and pan-fried pork dumplings, and they chose a cabbage and pork meatball hot pot (I was baffled to see meatballs in a Chinese dish, quite frankly, but they're surprisingly good), and pan-fried adzuki bean paste pancakes for dessert. You'll notice that Shanghai cuisine is basically all pork and cabbage so, you know, it gets pretty gassy, but I'M OKAY WITH THAT BECAUSE IT'S SO FREAKING DELICIOUS.
