Went to see CHVRCHES tonight at REBEL! Chelsea and I got tickets on a whim a few weeks ago. We didn't even know they were coming to Toronto on their Love is Dead tour until I got an email from Ticketmaster about the most recent concert line-ups. Tickets were only $50, so we didn't even hesitate to get them. (After paying an insane amount of money to see BTS, $50 for a concert is, quite frankly, cheap as fuck.) I haven't seen them since 2015 and man, I forgot just how good they are live. They played favourites from all their albums, and the crowd was surprisingly not obnoxious at all. (It was actually a really even mix of ages, backgrounds, and genders, which was really nice given that the last time I saw them, the majority of the crowd were white hipsters in their early 20s.) Lauren Mayberry's live singing voice is still as astounding as ever. I also never realized how fucking funny these guys are.
