Chels and I wanted some piping hot, spicy Korean food for dinner to warm us up on this chilly evening, so we got some tteok-bokki and doenjang-jjigae at Nakwon. The jjigae have always been pretty decent here, but I gotta say, the tteok-bokki was some of the worst I've ever had — the sauce was bland and watery, and the rice cakes were too soft and limp. Also, the service is still shitty. No welcoming greeting. Told us upon arrival that they were closing in an hour. Not a single smile in sight. Sighed when we asked for cold water. Asked us to pay the bill in the middle of eating so they could close. This is what I get for straying from my regular Korean place.
