Okay, legit, this has serious early 2000s rock-rap vibes and I am fucking living for it. The flow does somewhat remind me of RM's intro song for Dark & Wild, "What Am I to You?", but this is the first time BTS has really incorporated this kind of rock sound into their music, which makes me wonder if the rest of the album is going to be as electric guitar-heavy. (The comeback trailer/intro song doesn't usually represent the way the rest of the album will sound because BTS tends to incorporate dozens of genres into their music.) The song samples the intro for Skool Luv Affair from 2014, so they may be harkening back to the beginning (not necessarily in sound, but in the storyline). But a BTS x Gwen Stefani collab would make more sense now, if they're adding rock genres into their album. (In case you're wondering where that rumour came from, Gwen and BTS just started following each other on Twitter yesterday, which is what happened with Nicki Minaj right before they announced their collab on "IDOL.") Either way, I cannot fucking wait until this new album drops. 16 more days!
