Met up with Ronsee and Chelsea for dinner at Old Country Inn. It was our first time ever at an Austrian restaurant, so all three of us opted for their schnitzel, which seems to be their signature item. I decided to get the Jagerschnitzel, which is their Hunter-style cutlet in a bacon and mushroom red wine sauce and served with homemade dumplings. I actually think I would've preferred the schnitzel breaded, but the gravy was excellent; rich, creamy, and flavourful, with thick-cut mushrooms providing great texture and contrast to the meat. I wonder if it would be insulting to the chef if I requested a fried schnitzel with the same gravy...?
