After two days of tasting menus, today's dinner is back to basics: Laksa noodle soup with udon, beef brisket, fish cakes, soft-boiled egg, and luncheon meat at Chef Papa. I will say that, for the price, you do get more in your bowl than you would at Deer Garden. But the Malay laksa soup base at Deer Garden is still superior in flavour. One thing they do have in common, though, is that neither of them are photogenic.
