A gorgeous new matte formula from Too Faced in retro chic packaging to boot. I've only bought the three shades here to start as there are only 11 out of the 20 shades available right now but it's given me a good grasp of how the formula looks, applies, and wears. They all go on smoothly and evenly, and have excellent pigmentation with one swipe giving full colour pay-off. The finish here is a velvet matte, almost veering satin. There's no noticeable sheen, but it's not the kind of flat, almost powdery matte that you expect from liquid lipsticks or classic matte lipsticks (e.g. MAC Retro Mattes). All three shades here are really comfortable to wear and feel soft on the lips. I don't find them to be additionally hydrating, but they never feel dry or drying over time. I also don't find that these wear for eight hours unless you absolutely don't eat or drink or touch your lips for the entire day, but these nudes shades wear solidly for about four to five hours before fading.
On another note, there is definitely a significant amount of fragrance in these — it's a sweet peaches and cream scent that I can smell and taste for at least an hour after applying. I don't personally mind this, but if you're used to unscented or lightly scented lip products (e.g. MAC's vanilla scent goes away less than a minute after applying it), this might be a deal breaker. The packaging is also different from anything that Too Faced has released before — these have a classy, weighty, vintage glam feel to them with the ivory case and the gold detailing — and they actually feel luxe while holding them. I also appreciate that Too Faced colour-coded the tops of the lids to the lipstick shades so that they look uniform from the side but you know which shade is which without opening every single tube. Overall, I'm loving this new formula from Too Faced, and I'm excited to look into some of the other colours when they become available.
After doing my makeup lesson by makeup artist , I bought this whole collection. Basically, I bought almost all of their collections to improve my skills.
