Keep on Twinkling is a light warm baby pink with silver sparkle in a Lustre finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is brighter and more sparkly than Sweet Lust, cooler and more pink than Last Dance, and lighter and warmer than Swish.
Soba is a medium warm golden brown with gold micro-shimmer in a Satin finish. This is a permanent shade. It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is more golden than Cork, warmer and more golden than Wedge, and darker and more golden than Era.
While this eyeshadow duo looks fairly basic in this day and age of 35-pan eyeshadow palettes, Touch Me Baby is very easy to wear and totally reflective of the eye makeup trend in Korea right now. Soba is actually one of the best-selling MAC eyeshadow shades in Korea (actually, Asia as a whole), so it was a smart and obvious choice to include in this collection — it's a total workhorse shade across a myriad of skintones despite its yellow undertones. Keep on Twinkling is a sweet, girly shade that works well on its own as well as with Soba as a grounding contrast shade, and the two different finishes work well together as Keep on Twinkling isn't overly sparkly and Soba isn't too matte. Worn together, they create a easy, everyday eye look that can be dressed up or down, and goes very well with the bright lip shades that are so popular in Asia right now. That having been said, there's a very limited amount of looks you can create with this duo, so if you wanted something more dimensional or more smoky, you definitely need to reach to other shades (note that in Korea, eye makeup is usually kept soft and sweet, so the colours in this duo are curated to be on trend there). As it is, both shades here are incredibly smooth, beautifully pigmented, and apply evenly with minimal fall out (I am particularly impressed with the texture and pigmentation of Keep on Twinkling, because Lustre finishes are known to be sheer with major sparkle fall out). Obviously, if you're into makeup and own a lot of eyeshadows already, you'll have tons of shades like these already and this duo will definitely be skippable (unless you're a collector). But if you're looking for a nice, basic eyeshadow duo that is fool proof, neutral, and easy to wear, Touch Me Baby is definitely a cute one to consider.
