Lip pencils are back in a big way (I think we might have Kylie Jenner to blame for this one as well, sadly), and now I find it more and more common for people to consider lip pencil a must-have, to the point where some will even forego lipstick and use lip pencil to fill in the whole lip. This is where the Pro Longwear Lip Pencil formula is especially effective: they feel creamy and smooth going on, glide on effortlessly with full colour pay-off, dry down to a matte finish, and once they set, they do not budge. They wear for at least six hours; darker and brighter shades will wear at least eight without fading, and you'll need a make-up remover to take off any remnants of the pencil. I find these especially great for wearing underneath lipstick and lip gloss; they really prolong the wear of anything that sits on top of them. MAC is focusing on the Pro Longwear range because they will be discontinuing the Cremestick Liner formula, and with 12 new shades being added to the permanent range, there's definitely something for everyone. That having been said, a lot of shades here are dupes for existing shades that are in MAC's original Lip Pencil formula. If you have Soar, for example, you probably don't need In Control, unless you really wanted to switch over to the Pro Longwear formula. I would check your stash at home to see what you already have, and then try these out in-store to see if you prefer this formula. The texture of these is usually love-it-or-hate-it; those who love long-wearing products will probably get along great with these, but those who aren't used to the drier, more clingy feel of long-wearing products will probably be better off with the original Lip Pencil formula.
