MAC Beth Ditto: Pro Longwear Lipcremes

Today, MAC launched a new and limited edition collection in collaboration with Beth Ditto. It features a total of 24 products —13 of which are new and limited edition, five of which are re-promotes, and six of which are permanent. Beth Ditto sees the release of five new and limited edition shades of Pro Longwear Lipcreme, which is a lipstick formula with a "lightweight texture, creamy finish, and comfortable long wear" that "won't feather or transfer... and helps lips stay soft and hydrated." They are vanilla-scented but taste-free. Pro Longwear Lipcremes are packaged in black cylindrical metal tubes. Each lipstick contains 3.6 grams of product, and retails for $20 each. These are not applicable for the Back to MAC recycling program.

Booyah!!!, You're Perfect Already, Love Long Distance, Dear Diary, and Heart Hangover

Booyah!!! is a medium-dark bright orange. It is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is slightly lighter than Good to Go, and similar though slightly less bright than Morange.

You're Perfect Already is a light-medium pink-peach beige. It is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is much warmer than Dress It Up, more pink than To the Future!, and lighter and more beige than Angel and Creme Cup.

Love Long Distance is a pale cool-toned pink in a frosted finish. It is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft and creamy, and it goes on smoothly, but due to the metallic finish, it can look a little patchy on the lips because it tends to accentuate lip texture. It has medium pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. It is lighter and much more frosted than Dress It Up, slightly darker and more opaque than Pervette.

Dear Diary is a medium bright magenta pink with cool undertones. It is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is much brighter and less purple than Love Forever!, and lighter and more neon than Show Orchid.

Heart Hangover is a dark burgundy brown. It is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is lighter than Soulfully Rich, less brown than Film Noir, and less red than Media.

If you like the Pro Longwear Lipcreme formula, then these are worth looking at. I don't find these particularly hydrating, but I don't find them drying, either. They have a soft, creamy consistency and apply really smoothly for the most part. The wear time I get with these is anywhere from six to eight hours, though the brighter and darker shades do tend to stain which makes the wear time appear longer. I was surprised to see that Love Long Distance had a sheerer pay-off since Pro Longwear Lipcremes are known for their opacity, but it might appeal to those who typically like MAC's Glaze or Frost finish lipsticks. My must-have shade is Dear Diary, which is essentially this year's version of Candy Yum Yum (which, if memory serves, sold out within hours of launch from last year's Quite Cute collection). MAC has many bright pink shades in their lipstick range(s), but none of them are quite as neon or magenta as this one. The other four shades are nice, but quite easily dupeable within MAC's permanent range.
