So, a couple weeks ago, I received my order from Nail Polish Canada, which included three Deborah Lippmann polishes. Lippmann released a new collection last month called Mirrored Chromes which, like the name suggests, is made up of multi-chrome shades. Along with To The Beach, I picked up two of the three shades from Mirrored Chromes.
Sugar Daddy is a light-medium metallic bronze-gold multi-chrome. Depending on the angle, it will reflect rose gold, an antiqued green-gold, or a darker bronze-gold. Due to the metallic finish of the shade, brush strokes are visible on the nail. It goes on smoothly and evenly, but I did find it to have a thinner consistency with medium pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. I needed three coats for opacity. That having been said, Deborah Lippmann's polishes have a relatively fast dry time. What Lippmann excels at in her nail polish is the brush — it gives a beautiful, smooth, even application. It's just the right size to give clean, controlled strokes without smudging or going off the nail bed on to the skin. I also couldn't think of a dupe for this shade, which is always a bonus. If you like chrome polishes, this one is definitely worth checking out. I can see it looking especially nice with a tan.
such a luxurious colour! <3
ReplyDeletequo's filthy rich is a nice gold too but it's more sparkly

Oddly enough, I have never used Quo's nail polishes! Is the quality any good?
DeleteThis is a luxurious colour, indeed! I didn't expect to like it as much as I do, though. :P The multi-chrome nature keeps it from being a granny colour...
Hey, is this the one that's supposed to resemble Chanel Peridot? I can't decide how I feel about this.
ReplyDeleteNo, the one you're thinking about is called, "Swagga Like Us." That's the one I didn't get, because I have Peridot. Apparently, Lippmann's version is a bit darker and more bronze-based than Peridot... but at $22, it just wasn't worth it. Especially given that I spent $25 on Chanel's. :P
DeleteI remember wishing that Peridot was bronzier... gah, I see Swagga Like Us in my future at some point!
DeleteI was super tempted to get Swagga Like Us, but I actually prefer the greener aspect of Peridot! But SLU is pretty, nonetheless. :)
