MAC released a new collection yesterday called Reel Sexy. This collection is this month's "main launch," and features 23 products — 14 of which are new and limited edition, 6 of which are re-promoted and limited edition, one of which is re-promoted and will be added to the permanent line, and two of which are permanent. Reel Sexy sees the release of three shades of Nail Lacquer. Each nail polish comes in regular black packaging, contains a total of 10 ml of product, and retails for $19.

In the Dark... Purple, Screening Room, and Vivid Effect

In the Dark... Purple is a medium-dark red-toned purple in a Cream finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It goes on a bit streaky, but it does go opaque in two medium coats. You may need a third coat to smooth out any streaks. The consistency is not too thin or thick, and I had no problems pulling or bubbling. It is slightly darker than Zoya Kieko, and more red-toned than Sephora by OPI What a Broad.

Screening Room is a medium-dark teal blue in a Cream finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and it goes opaque in two medium coats. The consistency is not too thin or thick, and I had no problems with streaking, pulling, or bubbling. It is more green than MAC Morning After, and leans more teal than Illamasqua Muse.

Vivid Effect is a medium vibrant coral red in a Cream finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and is almost opaque in one medium-thick coat. The consistency is not too thin or thick, and I had no problems with streaking, pulling, or bubbling. It is more pink than MAC Kid Orange, and is similar though slightly cooler than Julep Mandy.

The only shade that was a bit problematic was In the Dark... Purple, but none of the shades were hard to work with. I do feel that In the Dark... Purple and Screening Room are more fall/winter shades (though they do work well with the colour scheme of the collection), whereas the polishes from February's Shop MAC, Cook MAC collection were more in-line with the season. In terms of formulation, Vivid Effect is the best, but it is also the most dupeable, especially given that nearly every brand has this type of shade. Given that MAC's nail polishes are $19 a pop, I still feel like you could find similar, if not the same, shades for much cheaper. If you typically spend this much on nail polish, though, and you really love these shades, you may want to take a look at these.
