MAC will be releasing a new and limited edition collection this coming Thursday, April 5, called In Extra Dimension. This collection will feature 15 products, 13 of which are new and limited edition, and two of which are re-promotes. In Extra Dimension features a new "liquid-powder hybrid formula with prismatic reflections" that creates a "luminous, visually arresting, well-defined finish" in both Skinfinish powders for the face as well as eyeshadows, all of which are limited edition. Each Extra Dimension Eyeshadow features a wave design embossed on the surface with the MAC logo imprinted around it. Each eyeshadow comes in regular black packaging, contains 2 grams of product, and retails for $24.

Clockwise (from bottom right): Warm Thunder, Modern Pewter, Sweet Heat, Havana, and Young Venus

Warm Thunder is a light-medium cool-toned grey with a silver metallic shimmer-sheen. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is a strange texture, which is very lightweight and dry, yet really soft and silky. When used wet, the colour becomes more intense with a stronger metallic finish. It is darker and less silver than Electra, and slightly lighter than Silver Ring.

Modern Pewter is a light antiqued gold with green tones and metallic shimmer-sheen. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is a strange texture, which is very lightweight and dry, yet really soft and silky. When used wet, the colour becomes more intense with a stronger metallic finish. It is much cooler and more green-toned than Retrospeck, and darker and more gold than Vex (which also has a pink duochrome).

Sweet Heat is a light-medium peach-beige with champagne-gold metallic shimmer-sheen. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is a strange texture, which is very lightweight and dry, yet really soft and silky. When used wet, the colour becomes slightly more intense with a stronger metallic finish, though I found this one to look fairly similar both dry and wet. It is similar, though slightly peachier, to All That Glitters.

Havana is a medium-dark warm amber brown with a subtle sheen. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is a strange texture, which is very lightweight and dry, yet really soft and silky. When used wet, the colour becomes more intense with a stronger metallic finish. It is slightly less red than Make Your Mark Pro Longwear Eyeshadow.

Young Venus is a pale pink with a white frosted shimmer-sheen. It goes on smoothly and evenly, though it seems slightly grittier than the other shades. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is a strange texture, which is very lightweight and dry, yet really soft and silky. When used wet, the colour becomes more intense with a stronger metallic finish. It is similar, though less icy/frosted, to Pink Freeze.

Clockwise (from bottom right): Lunar, Blue Orbit, Grand Galaxy, Rich Core, and Dark Dare

Lunar is a dark navy blue with a violet-blue metallic shimmer-sheen. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is a strange texture, which is very lightweight and dry, yet really soft and silky. When used wet, the colour becomes more intense with a stronger metallic finish. It is similar to Thru The Night Pro Longwear Eyeshadow.

Blue Orbit is a medium cool-toned lilac purple with a silver-purple metallic shimmer-sheen. . It is much more blue-toned and more silver than Beautiful Iris, and significantly lighter and less vibrant than Parfait Amour.

Grand Galaxy is a medium red-toned purple with a silvery purple metallic shimmer-sheen. It is similar to Nocturnelle, but with a silvery sheen.

Rich Core is a medium-dark aubergine with a metallic shimmer-sheen. It is darker than Star Violet.

Dark Dare is a deep-dark black with very subtle brown undertones and a subtle sheen. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is a strange texture, which is very lightweight and dry, yet really soft and silky. When used wet, the colour becomes more intense with a stronger metallic finish. This is by far MAC's most smooth and blendable black eyeshadow. It is similar to Carbon, though it has a warmth to it.

Remember how obsessed I was with Estée Lauder's Pure Color Gelée Powder Eyeshadows? (If you don't, you can read about it here.) Well, MAC's Extra Dimension Eyeshadow is pretty much the exact same product, which means these are awesome. I don't know if the ingredients are exactly the same, but the texture, look, and finish are identical. Given that Estée Lauder owns MAC, it doesn't come as a surprise that they would re-promote a formula. When Estée Lauder came out with them the first time around, they only brought out six colours and they were limited edition. Well, MAC's version is also limited edition, but they brought out ten new colours (and only Havana and Young Venus are remotely similar to Estée Lauder's) and they are $4 cheaper than Estée Lauder's version! I was obsessed with the formula back then, and I'm still obsessed with it now. All ten are worth looking at, though you might have similar shades at home. Still, they probably won't beat this formula.

    2. Sooo tempted...but I think I better save my dollars. I just bought 4 makeup brushes!

    3. Ooooh, which make-up brushes? Have you tried Sigma's? I've heard they're phenomenal for synthetic brushes...

    4. I picked up three of these: http://www.coastalscents.com/brushes/application/br-110.html
which were about $15 when I bought my first one. They're now $6.98 and 40% off! Cray cray!!
Synthetic bristles, good density, doesn't soak up foundation, a breeze to clean and O-M-G so soft. Applies liquid foundation like a dream! Does the job super fast too and really good for building coverage. I love this flat top brush. (Same as Crown Brush's SS014)

Also picked up a long handled kabuki brush for a couple of bucks.

I haven't tried Sigma brushes, but I've heard good things! Synthetic brushes are awesome. :D

    5. Oh, that is a good deal! I bought 3 flat-top brushes by Crown Brush at IMATS a couple years ago (I bought two of the SS014 and one of the C108), and they're fantastic. I do like the C108 more than the SS014, though, 'cause I find the bristles much smoother and denser, but they're all amazing for the price (I think I picked up the SS014 for $8 a pop, and the C108 for $5!).

I really wanna try Sigma brushes, though. Everyone RAVES about them! Maybe I can find them on sale somewhere... :P

    6. I looked up C108, I have that too! I stopped using it cause it kept on shedding and it was super annoying picking little bristles off my face. :( Maybe I'll try it again.. or perhaps its just a defective one? Boo.

    7. I find that after you wash the brushes a couple times with shampoo and water, the shedding stops! Or at least it becomes significantly better. :)
