Yesterday, MAC released a new collection in collaboration with Chinese fashion photographer, Chenman. This collection, entitled Chenman Love and Water, features 18 products in total, 10 of which are limited edition. There are two new and limited edition shades of nail lacquer released with this collection. Each nail lacquer comes in a regular black packaging with special edition secondary cardboard packaging, contains 10 ml of product, and retails for $18.
Breezy Blue and Pinkly Fresh
Breezy Blue and Pinkly Fresh
Breezy Blue is a dark royal blue with purple undertones in a Cream finish. I didn't find this too thin or thick in terms of consistency, but it does go on rather streaky and is prone to pulling. It goes opaque in two coats, but you may need three due to unevenness. It is very slightly lighter than Nails Inc. London Belgrave Place, and darker than Illamasqua Force.Pinkly Fresh is a light cool-toned pastel pink in a Cream finish. I didn't find this too thin or thick in terms of consistency, but it does go on rather streaky and is prone to pulling. It goes opaque in two coats, but you may need three due to unevenness. It is cooler than OPI Pink Friday, and similar to Essie French Affair.
Neither of these are must-haves for me, as I find there are other brands out there that do similar shades much better, and for cheaper. However, Breezy Blue is more unique than Pinkly Fresh, which almost seems too typical for this time of year. The formula is okay on both of these shades, though certainly not great. For me, neither of them are worth $18.
Oh yeah, total bypass. It fits the collection nicely but not worth it on their own merit.
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's like, "Really? Blue and pink creams?" SO BORING. They should've made them glitters. Or shimmery. Or SOMETHING. Ack.
DeleteI completely agree with you - I don't find either of these to be super unique. Breezy Blue is pretty though!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why MAC doesn't up their game with nail polishes. I remember when they came out with those multichrome nail polishes from their Venomous Villains collection -- they were soooo pretty and unique, no one had colours out like that! But these are such a snooze.
DeleteHmm the combo of both shades are quite cute though!
ReplyDeleteThey're cute, though my favourite combination for nail polish was from Shop MAC, Cook MAC. :)
DeleteWow these look amazing! I love the colours and absolutely love the cute cardboard packaging they come in. Although I do agree with you in the fact that you can get similar colours from better brands for cheaper
