I went to the Estée Lauder warehouse sale on my lunch break yesterday. I didn't really have a lot of time to browse or swatch colours, and I wasn't even looking for anything in particular... And then I somehow spent over $250...

MAC Lipstick in Sweet Thing, Phlox, and Gulabi ($10 each)
MAC Dazzleglass Creme in If It's Pink..., and Dazzleglass in Hi-Falutin' and Rue D'Rouge ($10 each)
MAC Eyeshadows in Haunting, Aquavert, Going Bananas, Bright Future, Marvel, Rani, Buckwheat, and Prepped For Glamour ($12 each)
MAC Crush Metal Pigments in Stacked 1! ($20 each)
MAC Crush Metal Pigments in Stacked 2! ($20 each)
MAC Creations Perfume in Turquatic, Dejarose, and Pinkaura ($18 each)
It really bummed me out that there wasn't a MAC charity grab bag table this year, because the grab bag products are usually really worth it ($5 for MAC four products!) and it's for a good cause (usually breast cancer or AIDS/HIV). Organizational issues, or is Estée Lauder Companies getting greedy? Moreover, I've noticed that the prices at these sales are increasing by quite a lot each year. I remember lip products used to be 2 for $10, and now they're $10 each. Likewise, eyeshadows used to be 2 for $15. It's worth going to get some older limited edition goodies, but this might be my last sale for a while. I just have way too much make-up as it is, and at the prices they set for most of the products, I'm better off using a MAC Pro discount (40% off), since I only go to these Lauder warehouse sales for the MAC stuff, anyway.
is MAC perfume really smells nice?
ReplyDeleteNOT good deals!
ReplyDeleteHi, Sofie! I like some of the MAC perfumes, like the ones I picked up, but they've been discontinued now... The only fragrance available now by MAC is Turquatic, which they brought back last month! It is now available internationally. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, Kat -- yeah, not good deals, but they're all about 40% off, which is how much I'd normally pay, anyway. But yeah, the sales just get worse and worse. :(
I wish there was an Estee Lauder warehouse sale here.. *cry*
ReplyDeleteOh-my-GAaad! You got so much! How's the Dejarose perfume?
ReplyDeleteHaha, aww, Fieran -- if it makes you feel better, the Lauder warehouse sales only happen in Markham (just outside of Toronto), so anyone outside of the Greater Toronto Area don't get to go, either, lol. Even the Americans don't get them! :P
ReplyDeleteLol, Mary, the thing that sucks is that I wasn't even planning on going! My co-workers were like, "Go check it out for us and see if anything's good." So I picked up MAC brush rolls for them, 'cause they were $10 from $60, which was easily the best deal of the day. :P The Dejarose perfume smells a lot like the Stella McCartney EDP, which I really like. :)
I'm still pouting :(
