Red Lobster

Shawn took me out for dinner at Red Lobster, 'cause I haven't been there in years and we were craving seafood. Seriously, how have I not gone to Red Lobster for so long? Those Cheddar Bay biscuits are the most divine things on Earth. Okay, maybe not, but they're so good, I could eat them every day for the rest of my life and still want more. Like, if I were on death row and I had to pick my last meal, those biscuits would be included in that meal. They're just so buttery and flaky and warm and garlicky and cheesy and everything I like about carbs is encapsulated in that biscuit. I scarfed down three of those babies before Shawn was like, "Maybe you want to save some room for your actual meal..."

I could wax on and on about the delights of Red Lobster's (unlimited!) cheese biscuits, but I have to move on to the things we actually went there to eat: seafood. I ordered a combination plate that included a split Maritime lobster tail, savoury garlic shrimp, and Walt's Favourite Shrimp on a bed of rice with a side of broccoli. Everything was so delightfully delectable and drenched in melted buttery goodness, that the only thing I have to complain about is maybe the broccoli, which was blanched with no flavour (until, you know, I dipped it in butter). But you don't go to Red Lobster to eat broccoli, so I digress. That's it, I need to go to Red Lobster more often. They are, after all, having their Festival of Shrimp right now, which is all the more reason to eat there. Although, let's be honest, I'm really going there for the biscuits, and everything else is just gravy.

  1. Those biscuits are the bestest things ever! There's a recipe on allrecipes that is quite close... but not exactly the same. They make an okay sub though.

I have not been in Red Lobster in years too!

  2. If I made those biscuits at home, I'd probably gain like, 40 pounds. :( I can't stop eating them when they're in front of me...

I'm not sure why I never thought of going to Red Lobster until yesterday. Shawn lives like, two minutes away from one. I feel like we'll have to make like, a Red Lobster day every month...
