After a 14-hour flight, two desperately needed cigarettes (y'all, this is the longest I've gone without a cigarette in 17 years — I legitimately forgot what it was like to get a head rush), taking the AREX to Seoul Station, getting a cab to our hotel, and checking in, it was already 9:00PM local time, and Carmen and I were starving. We decided to walk around the area around the hotel in search for a good place for dinner, except the majority of the restaurants around here were already closed or closing, so we decided to go into one of the few places that was open and looked the least intimidating: Two Two Fried Chicken.
Half and half original and yangnyeom fried chicken
We ordered the half and half mix of the original chicken and the yangnyeom chicken, served with cabbage salad. A prime example that you cannot go wrong with Korean fried chicken in Korea. The original chicken was especially notable — a thin, ultra-crispy, flavourful skin with the some of the juiciest meat I've ever had. You know, we weren't even specifically looking for Korean fried chicken tonight, but it turned out to be a most appropriate and delightful first meal to our trip in Seoul.
