Unboxing: BTS Dalmajung Official Merch

I actually got my order for the BTS Dalmajung collection from Weverse Shop a few weeks ago and completely forgot to open it until now. This collection was released in honour of Chuseok, which is the Korean equivalent to the Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Festival (which is what my family and I celebrate as we're Chinese). Both are held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, and both of them celebrate the autumn harvest. As it is based on the lunar calendar, this day always falls during a full moon, so it is only fitting to call a Chuseok-based collection, Dalmajung or "달마중," as it refers to "the moment where one looks up at the full moon and makes a wish." The BTS Dalmajung collection "combines the BTS symbol with flowers of the four seasons (peony, chrysanthemum, pomegranate flower, and plum blossom) that represent a wish for happiness, imbuing it with the unique beauty of traditional Korean culture."

I just thought it was too gorgeous to pass up on.

BTS Dalmajung Official Merch — Photo Card Binder (Day Version) — Group Portrait

The first thing I got was the Photo Card Binder in the Day version. This version features "Korean dancheong's techniques and forms" in shades of coral and spring green on a cream backdrop, with a matching coral silk ribbon closure. Inside of it is a photo of BTS looking lovely in traditional Korean hanbok. Aside from being a gorgeous binder, my old Map of the Soul photo card binder is nearly full and I just wanted to get a new one.

BTS Dalmajung Official Merch — Black Sweatshirt

The second item I ordered was the black sweatshirt. No, I did not need another black sweatshirt, but the BTS ones are made of French terry material and are INSANELY COMFY and I've basically made it my mission to collect all of them. This one features the BTS logo with the floral Dalmajung pattern embroidered on the left chest, as well as white piping across the back of the sweatshirt from one sleeve to the other. I've especially started liking sweatshirts over hoodies these days because I can actually wear them to work. (We are very casual at my workplace, but hoodies seem a little too casual, you know? It's a fine line.) So I'm justifying this particular purchase with the fact that it's work clothing.

BTS Dalmajung Official Merch — Badge Set

Lastly, I bought the badge set to add to my huge collection of BTS pins. This set comes with two badges "that represent the day and night of Dalmajung." The day version badge is embroidered in the shape of a floral dancheong pattern, and the night version badge features the BTS logo filled with a floral pattern made to resemble traditional lacquerware with mother-of-pearl inlays. This one includes a hanging tassel to "give it a sense of luxury." Frankly, this whole collection is beautiful and screams "luxury" to me, but as I'm on a budget and there's literally not enough space in my apartment, I just got the few items that I would actually use. I do somewhat regret not getting the photo books, though...
