After an afternoon of running errands in 35°C weather, I was sweating, exhausted, and hardcore craving Chinese food. So I went out for dinner with my mom at Congee Queen. (Can you tell that I'm taking advantage of dining out while we still can?) Got stir-fried beef with mushrooms and green onions served on a sizzling hot plate, fried rice noodles with shrimp in scrambled egg sauce, and fried bean curd (tofu) with shiitake mushrooms and Chinese broccoli. Y'all, let me just tell you how much this HIT THE SPOT. (It was a bull's eye.) I guess the perk of never cooking Chinese food at home is that it is doubly delicious when I do have it.
