So, my order of Variety magazine's BTS cover issue arrived today:

Variety Magazine — BTS Cover Issue

Variety Magazine — BTS Cover Issue

Variety Magazine — Left to right: V, Jimin, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, RM, and Jungkook

Variety Magazine — Clockwise from bottom: Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, V, RM, and Jungkook

Variety Magazine — J-Hope and Jimin

Variety Magazine — V and RM

Variety Magazine — Suga and Jin

Variety Magazine — Jungkook

Actually a pretty decent article (they've definitely done more research than the average American publication on BTS and ARMY), but obviously the sole reason that I bought physical copies of this issue, aside from collecting, was for the photos. And the reason I bought three copies is so that I could frame them (two to cut out, one to keep intact) 'cause I love, love, love this photoshoot. Imagine my disappointment when I saw that the photos of the rap line (RM, Suga, and J-Hope) are only a quarter of the page size, while the photos of the vocal line (Jin, V, Jimin, and Jungkook) are full pages. Layout design or page limits be damned, if you're going to give one member a full page photo, then ALL OF THE MEMBERS should get full pages. I know Variety had to change their original layout already — they had used bright red for the title colours, which is a big no-no in Asian cultures (it's associated with death when used in writing), so they switched it to black — but this was still a big faux pas. One step forward, two steps back. (I'm just gonna put this out there, they don't do this in Asian publications.)
