Met up with Chelsea for brunch at Starving Artist this afternoon. It's been getting a lot of hype recently on Instagram from foodies in the Toronto area, so we finally went to check it out. Their specialty is waffles, which is pretty much in every single dish they offer, but after perusing their menu (all of which sounds good), I finally decided on an iced latte and the "B. Benny," which consists of two potato waffles with poached eggs, caramelized bacon, and hollandaise sauce. Each Eggs Benedict is served with house salad and your choice of side, so I picked the potato salad (because I was on a potato theme, apparently). What sets this dish apart from any other Eggs Benedict I've ever had is the potato waffles, which is like fluffy mashed potatoes but made into waffle form. And let me tell you, their potato waffle is revolutionary. Never had anything like it, but IT'S MADE OF DREAMS. CARB-FILLED DREAMS. 10/10, would 100% recommend. Definitely coming back to try out some of the other waffle dishes. Don't know how they'll live up to the potato waffles, but I'm willing to do the research.
