I did say I was determined to get Eggs Benedict this week, didn't I? I finally got try out the newly opened Elephant Grind Coffee today with my friend Viv. Lattes to start (original for me, matcha for her) and then three dishes to share — the Eggs Benedict with peameal bacon and roasted sun-dried tomato jam, the lap cheong hash with gochujang and poached eggs, and the ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote and whipped cream. Great flavours, fresh ingredients, really nice textures (the eggs are silky, the pancakes are fluffy, the home fries are crispy), and, of course, beautifully presented. All dishes and drinks here are Instagram-worthy food porn. It's a cute little brunch spot, and a really nice addition to the Richmond Hill food scene. There aren't a lot of "fusion" brunch places in general, let alone in this area, but they do it really well here.
