This week's Saturday Nine:

  1. As she sings, Ariana muses about the songs she could compose on her piano. Do you play the piano? Not anymore. I did for about six years when I was a kid, but I gave it up to play the violin instead.

  2. She compares love songs, saying there are sad ones about how hard love is, and happy ones that make you want to dance. What's your favourite love song? Is it sad or happy? As I am still listening to nothing else but BTS these days, I'm gonna go with "Intro: Serendipity" right now. It can be interpreted as a love song about two lovers or as a love song to yourself (I'm gonna go with the latter, since self-acceptance and self-actualization are big themes in BTS' Love Yourself: Her), but it's a beautiful, emotional song. I'd say it's more happy than sad, but more than anything, it's hopeful.

  3. Ariana's mother always told her that they took her name from Princess Oriana in the 1988 movie Felix the Cat. Who is your favourite cartoon character? Buttercup from The Powerpuff Girls. She's badass.

  4. Ariana's favourite board game is Monopoly. What's your favourite board game? Since I was little, it's been Clue. I guess I like solving murder mysteries?

  5. She relaxes by baking. When you feel keyed up, what do you do to relax? These days, it's watching BTS videos. I love their own series (like Run BTS! and Bon Voyage) and their variety show episodes.

  6. She is a huge Florida Panthers fan, even though once, as a little girl, she got hit by a puck. Now that the NHL season is underway, how's your favourite team doing? I don't follow NHL hockey so I don't actually have a favourite team, though as a Torontonian, I'd naturally cheer for the Maple Leafs if I had to cheer for any team. And according to the most recent scores... they're not doing that great right now.

  7. In 2013, when this song was popular, the NHL reached an agreement with the players union and averted a strike. Have you ever belonged to a union? When I worked at Richtree for about nine months (from 2007 - 2008), I belonged to a union but it was totally useless and I didn't actually use or see any benefits from this union in the time that I worked there.

  8. Also in 2013, Pauline Philips died. Ms. Philips was better known to millions of readers as "Dear Abby." At its height, her advice column appeared in 1,400 newspapers across the country. Do you still read a printed copy of your newspaper? Nope. I don't think I have in well over a decade. Everything's online now. Plus, my fingers won't get stained this way.

  9. If you could get the answer to one question about your future, what would that one question be? Where will my career go from here?
