Went for dinner with my friend Viv this evening at JOEY. We used to go there at least once a week because their food and service is consistently good, but got bored of the same menu after a year of going there so routinely, so now we only go there maybe once every six months. They recently revamped their menu so I tried the newly added Pasta Pomodoro, which is made with spaghetti in Calabrian chili spiked tomato sauce, whipped ricotta, fresh basil, and parmesan. The sauce has that perfect amount of lip-tingling spice, and the whipped ricotta adds this gorgeous creaminess to the pasta. It's simple but so, so good. I was actually surprised at how impressive it was, to be honest. It's better than some of the pastas I've had at authentic Italian restaurants. Would definitely order again.
