MAC RiRi ♥ MAC Fall: RiRi Woo Lipglass

on
Wednesday, October 9, 2013

Last week, MAC released a new collection in collaboration with Rihanna called RiRi ♥ MAC Fall. It is the second collection that was created by Rihanna for MAC, and is one of three colour collaboration collections (one collection was launched in the summer, and the last one will be launched in-stores for holiday). RiRi ♥ MAC Fall consists of 20 products, and sees the release of one new and limited edition shade of Lipglass. As with all Lipglasses, it is vanilla-scented but taste-free, and comes with a doe-foot applicator. It is housed in special edition metallic rose gold packaging featuring Rihanna's signature and logo in various shades of pink with matching secondary cardstock packaging. Each Lipglass contains 4.8 grams of product, and retails for $20. Due to special edition packaging, these are not applicable for the Back to MAC recycling program.

RiRi Woo Lipglass

RiRi Woo is a medium-dark vibrant blue-toned cherry red. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a creamy texture, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation with opaque colour pay-off. It is similar though less blue-toned than its lipstick counterpart. It is similar but slightly less bright than Russian Red, lighter and much cooler than Viva Glam I, and similar but less shimmery than Driven by Love Pro Longwear Lipglass.

Like Viva Glam I Lipglass, the formula on this is fantastic: it's incredibly pigmented and just applies beautifully — no streaks, no patches, no seeping into lip lines. And it adds incredible dimension and richness when worn on top of RiRi Woo lipstick. I've personally found that it's not as sticky as many of the other Lipglass shades so it's more comfortable to wear, and I get a good four hours of wear-time with it alone. This is a great option for those who like the colour of RiRi Woo but don't like the extremely dry texture of Retro Mattes.

    1. It really is a gorgeous shade, perfect for fall and winter! If they're sold out of this one, check out Russian Red Lipglass as well as Viva Glam I, which is a deeper crimson shade (and my personal favourite). :)
