I found myself with nothing do to on Sunday morning since the other girls woke up early to check out South Street Seaport, so I decided to grab a coffee at Starbucks and roam around Financial District for a bit. Of course, me being me, I ended up at Sephora. 'Cause there's really no better place to kill time when you're a bored make-up artist. And I somehow walked out 20 minutes later with a massive bag of new goodies:
Sephora + Pantone Universe Shades of Nature Eyeshadow Palette
Bliss Spa Body Butter Set: Lemon + Sage, Blood Orange + White Pepper, and Raspberry Champagne
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 in Lemon & Chamomile and Vanilla & Lavender, Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens, and NARS Powder Blush in Outlaw
Beauty Insider Rewards: Five tubes of Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleansing Gel (500 points)
I originally bought Urban Decay's Naked2 Palette as well, but then had serious buyer's remorse and returned it because I already have the original Naked palette (and um, about 400 eyeshadows at home), and just couldn't justify another "neutral" palette (oh, first world problems). But I think I did pretty well in the end...

You did all that in only 20 mins? I get trapped in a Sephora for like an hour until the security guard starts to eye me funny... :>
ReplyDeleteSo, what's your take on the Naked palettes? Worth it or do you think it's better to cobble together a customized MAC palette? I got rid of my Naked a long time ago because it wasn't as naked as I wanted it to be, LOL.
Liz, Denise is like a tornado when it comes to shopping at Sephora. You should see the girl in action. She knows what she wants and where to get it and god help the poor mortal who gets in her way.
DeleteHaha, Liz, I am a pro at shopping at Sephora. The first time I ever went into a Sephora, I was 16 (OMG ALMOST A DECADE AGO) and it was in NYC. And then I skipped my lecture at Ryerson to go to the opening for Sephora at Eaton Centre. Been doin' this a long time. ;)
DeleteThe Naked palettes are beautiful but only really worth it if you'll use all the colours. Keep in mind that their definition of "naked" really means "neutral," so they tend to look good on nearly everyone. I think you want something more customizable so that you can choose exactly what shades you want in your palette. The beauty of the MAC palettes is that you can just buy one or two pans at a time instead of filling a massive 15-pan palette. :)
LOL, Mary -- you make me sound so cutthroat! I just like being efficient...
DeleteHi, I know this is a old post, but is the Bumble and Bumble oil any good?
ReplyDeleteHi, Stephanie -- I really like the Bumble and Bumble oil; I find that it works just as well as Moroccan Oil but without any of the heaviness and residue that it can leave. But if you have much drier or curlier hair, you might like something with a heavier texture. :)
