Shawn took me out for dinner at Momiji last night:
25-piece sashimi platter: Salmon, tuna, fatty tuna, yellowtail, swordfish, and snapper
Spicy sushi cake: Spicy salmon mixed with cucumber in between layers of sushi rice, topped with avocado slices, tempura bits, and spicy mayo
Medusa Roll: Shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado, crab meat, and fish roe rolled in rice, topped with tuna, salmon, and roasted eel
Medusa Roll (close-up)
Everything was phenomenal; the sashimi was fresh and came in thick slices, the Medusa Roll was fantastic (like a Spider Roll, but with different types of fish on the outside), and the spicy sushi cake was surprisingly awesome (actually, it was like a deconstructed, layered version of a spicy salmon roll, hence the "cake"). I wholeheartedly recommend eating here: The food is always tasty and fresh, the service is attentive and polite (efficiency is a hit-or-miss, though), and the decor is clean and modern. The only thing that was not so great about our visit was that we ordered way too much food for two people. We were so full, we practically had to roll ourselves out of the restaurant. On another note, it seems like I've been celebrating my 25th birthday for about a week now. Ridiculous.
You take the best food pics! I don't even like sushi but this looks soooo good. :O
