MAC Caitlyn Jenner: Cremesheen Glass in Kindness, Beautifully Bare, and Tolerance

Last Thursday, MAC launched their collaboration with Caitlyn Jenner, a collection that is meant to "continue her mission of sharing her transition with the world, championing All Ages, All Races and All Sexes." It includes a total of 15 products, of which 11 are new and limited edition and four are permanent and in special edition packaging. The Caitlyn Jenner collection sees the launch of three new and limited edition shades of Cremesheen Glass, which is described as "a lip finish that fuses the creamy, sheen-filled Cremesheen Lipstick with the shine of Lipglass. Soft, comfortable, non-sticky... Applies with a doe-foot applicator. Use as top layer to its matching lipstick or on its own." They are housed in a clear tubes with metallic gold lids. Each Cremesheen Glass contains 2.7 grams of product, and retails for $24.

Kindness, Beautifully Bare, and Tolerance

Kindness, Beautifully Bare, and Tolerance

Kindness is a pale warm milky champagne with gold and white iridescent shimmer in a high-shine finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a lightweight, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has low pigmentation and sheer to semi-sheer buildable colour pay-off. There is nothing similar to this in MAC's permanent range.
Beautifully Bare is a medium warm rosy beige in a high-shine finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a lightweight, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque to opaque buildable colour pay-off. It is darker and more brown than Deelight, and warmer and more brown than Ample Pink and Viva Glam Ariana Grade 2.
Tolerance is a medium-dark cool pink-mauve with low-level pink pearl in a high-shine finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a lightweight, creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is darker and cooler than Deelight, and darker than Ample Pink and Viva Glam Ariana 2.

The Caitlyn Jenner collection as a whole has gotten a lot of backlash since it was launched, but I am not here to judge her nor to write my personal opinion about her as a person, so I want to make it clear that I am reviewing this as a makeup artist, enthusiast, and collector. That aside, I am pleasantly surprised at how much I like all three shades here — as with the rest of the collection, they are all widely flattering and will work beautifully on all complexions. I like that they are all Cremesheen Glass, so they're smooth and totally non-sticky (it seems like they've been re-formulated to be more hydrating, too), but these also come in three different levels of pearl, with Kindness being the most shimmery and Beautifully Bare being a straight cream finish. All three are lovely on their own, especially since Beautifully Bare and Tolerance actually have quite a lot of pigmentation (especially for Cremesheen Glasses, which are generally semi-sheer), but are wonderful as layering glosses as well. I actually do hope that MAC adds these to their permanent range 'cause their current Cremesheen Glass collection is really lacking.
