This week's Friday Five:
  1. How long would it take you, via the quickest means available, to get to the place of your birth from where you are right now? By car, about half an hour.

  2. If a traveling food show were to visit your neighbourhood, what are some unique, regional foods it would spotlight, and where would it go to get them? Chicken and steak waffles, udon carbonara, and banana waffle ice cream sandwiches from Inspire, cookies 'n' cream waffles with black sesame soft serve from Wooffles and Cream, spicy Mentaiko beef udon from Aka Teppan, Salmon Oshizushi from Le Modern Japanese Cuisine, pork soup dumplings from Ding Tai Fung, shrimp tempura with Japanese curry on rice and matcha soft serve parfait from Moji, fresh gnocchi in Gorgonzola cream sauce from Cucina Locale, pear and guava gelato from Love Gelato, and the Bacon & Egg pizza with hollandaise from Smash Kitchen. There are some good eats around here!

  3. When were you last in ocean waters? I think when I was 13 or 14, in Pattaya, Thailand.

  4. What disposable item do you almost never use because you greatly prefer the non-disposable version? My Venus razor. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I ever used a disposable razor.

  5. What's the schwag that's physically closest to you right now? A tote bag from Aritzia.
