MAC Flamingo Park: Powder Blush in What I Fancy, Spring Flock, Oh, My!, Life's a Picnic, Let's Be Friends, and This Could Be Fun

Tomorrow, MAC will launch their major Spring colour collection called Flamingo Park, inspired by "a picnic... a park... a girl of whimsy with a sweet tooth... unexpected guests... a curious flamingo! That's spring, it's an adventure. A little sugar goes a long way... a merry pink flock joins her feathered friend... the whole park goes to the birds... Plunge into the punch pleasures of pink in a freshly made batch of scrumptious colours that let you have your cake, and wear it, too." There is a total of 36 products, of which 18 are new and limited edition, five are re-promotes, and 13 are permanent. Flamingo Park will see the launch of seven shades of Powder Blush, of which six are new and limited edition and one is permanent (which will not be reviewed here). Each blush is housed in a regular black clear-lidded compact, contains 6 grams of product, and retails for $26.

What I Fancy, Spring Flock, and Oh, My!

Spring Flock is a medium warm guava pink in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. Life's a Picnic, Let's Be Friends, and This Could Be Fun

Life's a Picnic is a medium-dark vibrant cool watermelon pink in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is darker and brighter than Dollymix, warmer than Rhubarb, and brighter than Whole Lotta Love.
Let's Be Friends is a medium-dark vibrant cool fuchsia pink in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is lighter and warmer than Full Fuchsia, lighter and more muted than Rhubarb, and warmer, more muted, and less shimmery than Azalea.
This Could Be Fun is a medium-dark vibrant cool orchid purple in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. There's nothing similar to this in MAC's permanent range; it's more purple than Full Fuchsia, Rhubarb, and Azalea.

Calling all blush fiends — this collection is for you! Here's six brand-new, gorgeously soft, finely-milled, silky, ultra-pigmented blushes for you to play with. While What I Fancy and Spring Flock are geared more towards fair to medium skintones and are ultra-wearable Spring pinks (read: fresh and peppy), the other four shades are definitely designed for darker complexions in mind, or for those who just love an intensely bright blush (read: clown cheeks) in general. For those who want a pop of colour but not in-your-face vibrancy, have no fear — these are very blendable and are easily muted when buffed in with a highlighter, skin finisher, or Beauty Powder. After winter collections of muted neutrals for cheeks, it's about time for some fun brights, and Flamingo Park definitely delivers.

  1. I don't need any blushes, but these are just so cheerful to look at!

    1. Lol, totally fair. Although those bright colours are a lot easier to wear than one might expect! I buffed out Let's Be Friends yesterday with Pearl Blossom Beauty Powder and it just looked so fun and peppy but not over the top. :)

  2. Ahhhhhh, these are so fucking pretty I CAN'T. LOL

I had to stop and gawk at the MAC display yesterday. Last year me would have bought like all of them. Thankfully I conducted a blush estimate (it's a thing) and I think I don't need to buy a blush for at least 10 years.

    1. LMAO, I was totally thinking of you when I first saw this collection, like, "Sigh, the old blush fiend Liz would've gone apeshit for these..." LOL.

And you're probably right. I don't need to buy a blush for at least... eight lifetimes.

  3. I loved your explanations. My "Fleur power" finished over and now I am in doubt... Which these are more similar to "Fleur power"?
