Sunday Video Love: Doo-Wop (That Thing)

Since watching Pitch Perfect 2 a couple weeks ago, I've been in a "'90s Hip Hop Jamz" kind of mood. I only own one hip hop record, and that is Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (and I still think it's a damn shame that that is the only record she's ever released as a solo artist), and as far as I'm concerned, it's the only one that's relevant. To me, it will always be the quintessential female hip hop album, and this song its anthem.

  1. Ugh, yes, Lauryn Hill is SO, so good. I used to have this album but I think it got lost somewhere long ago. I will go listen to it on Rdio right now, haha. I think she's fallen on some hard times and sounds a bit troubled, which is a shame.

    1. RIGHT?! This album and The Fugee's The Score is all I need for my hip hopping needs, lol.

And yeah, I heard she had to go to jail for tax evasion and she's all weird and shit now 'cause her "spiritual advisor" brainwashed her.

  2. You bring me back. That was my favourite album for quite a while.

    1. Makes me so nostalgic. :) It's fun to re-visit old albums! Makes you remember why you love them so much and wonder why you hadn't listened to it for so long.
