Today, MAC launched a new collection in stores called The Matte Lip. This collection sees the launch of 17 products, seven of which are new and limited edition, three of which are new and will become permanent, two of which are re-promotes and will become permanent, and five of which are permanent. The Matte Lip includes the release of three new and permanent shades of Pro Longwear Blush, which are available in both potted and pan refill forms. Each Pro Longwear Blush comes in regular black packaging, contains a total of 6 grams of product, and retails for $31. The Pro Longwear Blush pan refills do not come with plastic packaging and retail for $23 each.
Make You Mine is a medium-dark warm rosy copper-bronze with subtle golden shimmer-sheen in a satin finish. This is a new and permanent shade. It has a soft, silky, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is cooler and less shimmery than Ambering Rose, darker and more pink than Peachtwist, and brighter and more copper than Love Joy Mineralize Blush.
Fleeting Romance is a medium-dark brightened warm pink-coral with subtle golden shimmer-sheen in a satin finish. This is a new and permanent shade. It has a soft, silky, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is more orange than Fleur Power, darker and more orange than Peachykeen, and lighter and more pink than Pinch Me.
I'm a Lover is a light-medium cool-toned cotton candy pink with subtle silver shimmer-sheen in a satin finish. This is a new and permanent shade. It has a soft, silky, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is brighter than Dame, lighter and warmer than Peony Petal, and darker than Well Dressed.
It seems like MAC has re-formulated the Pro Longwear Blush, because the texture on these is positively dreamy: so soft, so silky, so smooth. Like a velvety, almost creamy powder formula. Fantastic pigmentation and colour pay-off, too. Beautifully buildable, beautifully blendable. Each of these also has a subtle shimmer-sheen to them so that they look like they have a soft focus effect on the skin. Not shimmery enough to emphasize skin texture, but not so matte that it looks powdery or flat. They also wear for eight hours (or more) without fading, so the formula delivers as promised. The best part? They'll be added to the permanent range! The regular potted version will be available at all locations, and the pan refill version will be available at MAC Stores only.
I would have been ALL OVER Make You Mine earlier in the summer while on the hunt for terracotta blushes. Believe it or not, I'm feeling a bit of blush overload at the moment. Like, I don't even want the Hourglass ambient blush palette. It's... disorienting. Anyway, good to hear these are permanent!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you MEAN "blush overload"?!?!?!!! NO SUCH THING.
DeleteI actually don't want the Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette, either. Mostly because I already have one of the shades, but also because the other two shades in there don't excite me that much. You never know, I might change my mind in a month. But for now, there are so many other blushes for me to hoard...
But yes, these are permanent and so worth checking out once you're out of your blush funk. I hope they come out with more shades in this formulation! Also, Make You Mine isn't purely terracotta... there's an undercurrent of rose in it that makes it so perfect for fall without going into the plum category!
PERMANENT, YOU SAY?
ReplyDeleteOMG Denise. I went to the MAC store yesterday and it was terrible, I blame you. Including the two I just ordered (which arrived yesterday), my MAC lipstick count just increased by four. PLUS a lipliner...some brown one to make concealer lips not bleed into my face. It was so bad.
YES. I know you're not like BLUSH FIEND, but... unnnnghhh, these are so pretty...
DeleteLOL, by "terrible," do you mean AWESOME? You got Pander Me, Living Legend, Fashion Revival, and Dubonnet, right? At least they're all very different shades... If you got like, Fashion Revival and Rebel, I would be like, "K, didn't REALLY need both..." LOL.
Which liner did you get?
Actually I got Peachstock. Dubonnet was from two months ago, LOL, I'm terrible about keeping on top of this stuff.
DeleteThe liner was...S...something. LOL. Originally I was going to get Oak but they didn't have that. I confess that I can't make it look nearly as good as the MUA did, but I'll practice. Or something. What else can I do with it? :D
Oooh, Peachstock is one of my favourite shades from MAC! So glad they made that available at all locations (it was PRO only previously). :)
DeleteStripdown? Subculture? I like to put a layer of lipstick on first, then line the lips with pencil, then put another layer of lipstick to blend. I also use pencils to switch up colours, so I'll line and fill lips with pencil and then dab lipstick on top to create a new colour. :)
I was so excited about the lipsticks that I didn't even realize there were blushes with this collection. Either way, I'm so glad they're perm because there's a whole lot of holiday stuff on my wish list that needs to be purchased first.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Me, too, actually. I think it's also because the collection is called "The Matte Lip." When it was initially launched, I thought it was just all lipsticks, and then I was like, "WHAT!!! BLUSH!!!" And proceeded to buy all of them because hi, I'm a blush fiend. But yes, I'm glad they're permanent, too! And available in pan form! I have too many singles just lying around taking up SO MUCH SPACE.
