Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Turn On, Anarchy, Catfight, Streak, and Naked

I have no idea why it's taken me so long to post about these because they came out a while ago and I actually bought these last September; I think I was waiting until I accumulated more shades before posting about them en masse, but I think I will post about these five shades first and then post about the others later (I have seven now, but I intend on getting a few more shades to make an even ten). Urban Decay's Revolution Lipstick is described as "a rich, buttery lipstick at its best — with the signature Urban Decay pigment-rich colour you crave" that "glides on without dragging or skipping and hugs every curve. Just one swipe gives you a big, gorgeous lay down of colour." The formula has "a nourishing blend of jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter [that] keeps lips super moisturized and cushiony soft." The current range includes 23 shades, 20 of which are available at Sephora, and three of which are available at Urban Decay's website only. They are housed in "luxe, custom-designed gunmetal tubes lined in Urban Decay’s signature dark purple." Each Revolution Lipstick contains 2.8 grams of product, and retails for $26.

Turn On, Anarchy, Catfight, Streak, and Naked

Turn On, Anarchy, Catfight, Streak, and Naked

Turn On is a medium brightened cool-toned rose pink with a luminous sheen in a cream finish. This is a permanent shade. It has a soft and creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is cooler than MAC Grande Dame Mineralize Rich Lipstick, darker and warmer than MAC Pink Nouveau, brighter and more pink than Chanel 34 La Raffinée Rouge Allure Velvet, and lighter than Illamasqua Resist.

Anarchy is a medium-dark vibrant cool-toned magenta-fuchsia pink with a luminous sheen in a cream finish. This is a permanent shade. It has a soft and creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is brighter than MAC Girl About Town, more blue-toned than OCC Pretty Boy Lip Tar, similar though slightly lighter than YSL 10 Provocative Pink Rouge Volupté, and slightly darker and more blue-toned than Joe Fresh Fuchsia.

Catfight is a medium-dark vibrant cool-toned pinked red with a luminous sheen in a cream finish. This is a permanent shade. It has a soft and creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is darker and more pigmented than MAC So Good Mineralize Rich Lipstick, more pinked than MAC MAC Red, slightly more reddened than YSL 11 Rose Culte Rouge Volupté, and darker and more cool-toned than Clinique Mightiest Maraschino.

Streak is a light-medium warm-toned coral pink with a luminous sheen in a cream finish. This is a permanent shade. It has a soft and creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is more peach than MAC Lipblossum, darker than MAC Flamingo, lighter than NARS Niagara, and more pink than YSL 13 Peach Passion Rouge Volupté.

Naked is a light-medium warm beige-pink with a luminous sheen in a cream finish. This is a permanent shade. It has a soft and creamy texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is more pinked than MAC Patisserie, lighter and more pinked than MAC Bare Again Sheen Supreme Lipstick, more peach and more pigmented than Chanel 54 Boy Rouge Coco Shine, and lighter and less brown than Tarte Plummy Rose.

Honestly, this is one of my Top 3 favourite lipstick formulas of all time. It's creamy and emollient without being too soft or slippery, it's hydrating and never feels dry but has a great wear-time (about four hours for lighter shades, six hours for brighter or darker shades), it has high pigmentation with opaque colour pay-off, it glides on super-smooth and never skips or tugs, and it doesn't leave that dreaded white ring around the inner lip. They've come out with a great shade range that encompasses nudes to brights to darks, so there's something for everyone, and the price point is just right (still in the luxury category, but not outrageous). Basically, if you're a fan of lipstick in general, you need to get one (or two or eight).

    1. Honestly, Naked and Naked2 are the most used shades I have from this range just because they look good with everything. Naked is great if you like a more minimalistic face and want a nice MLBB shade, and Naked2 (which isn't reviewed here, but will likely be reviewed in the near future) is my go-to nude shade when I'm doing a colourful or smoky eye. Worth getting those ones first and then moving on to the brighter shades. :)

    1. YES! If Beauty.com shipped to Canada, I would be on that shit. What shades are you thinking about? :D

    2. I DON'T KNOW. I wanted Bang but I bought Dior Trafalgar and Lady Danger and now I absolutely do not need another orange red. Recommendations, Denise? :P

    3. If not Bang, then I think Streak and Fiend would look great with your complexion and hair colour. :) If you're looking for something softer, more subtle, then Naked is also lovely!

  3. Anarchy and Catfight are hot. *___* Did you get Bang as well?

    1. No, I didn't! I'm tempted to, but I think the reason I'm holding off is because I have so many orange-reds... There are other shades that I want more right now, but I think I will end up getting Bang sometime in the near future. Maybe when I'm in NYC and summer is really upon us. :P

  4. Anarchy, OMG ~drools~ I'm definitely going to buy one or two of these at some point, just gotta get through a couple of my stash first (trying to do the two out, one in rule for a while). These look amazingly cushy, Denise, awesome swatches!

    1. These are truly stunning; I think they're the best formulation for the price, TBH, so definitely worth getting!

Good luck with your lipstick reducing -- your willpower never ceases to amaze me, lol!
