MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow Quad in A Harvest of Greens

Two weeks ago, MAC released new Mineralize Eyeshadow quads "coordinated in a collection of looks for day and night." It features "Mineral-Rich Yeast Extract, a blend of 77 minerals that nourishes the skin while providing silky sooth coverage. Its sheer, lightweight application allows each shade to build lightly, layer after layer, for dramatic colour with a lustrous glow." It comes in six new and permanent colour combinations in "bold, blendable shades and gorgeous shimmer." They are packaged in black round mirrored compacts with magnetic closure. Each Mineralize Eyeshadow quad comes with 2 grams of product, and retails for $52.

A Harvest of Greens

A Harvest of Greens — top two shades and bottom two shades, used dry

Harvest of Greens — top two shades and bottom two shades, used wet

A Harvest of Greens #1 is a light-medium muted rose beige with golden shimmer-sheen in a metallic finish. The texture is somewhat gritty and powdery, and can go on patchy and unevenly as a result. It has medium pigmentation and semi-sheer to semi-opaque buildable colour pay-off. When used wet or over a base, it becomes more metallic and significantly more opaque. It is more muted than All That Glitters, less gold than Honey Lust, and darker than Naked Lunch.
A Harvest of Greens #2 is a medium khaki-olive brown with a subtle sheen in a satin finish. The texture is soft and silky, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. When used wet or over a base, it becomes more metallic and significantly more opaque. It is darker and more brown than Patina, lighter and more green-toned than Charcoal Brown, and darker and less golden than Soba.
A Harvest of Greens #3 is a medium yellow-toned olive green with golden shimmer-sheen in a frosted finish. The texture is soft and silky, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. When used wet or over a base, it becomes more metallic and significantly more opaque. It is darker and more green than Sumptuous Olive, lighter and more golden than Greensmoke, and lighter and warmer than Greenluxe #4.
A Harvest of Greens #4 is a dark reddened brown with a subtle sheen in a satin finish. The texture is soft and silky, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. When used wet or over a base, it becomes more metallic and more opaque. It is lighter and more shimmery than Mystery, lighter and more reddened than Brun, and less reddened and more shimmery than Embark.

Those who like Mineralize Eyeshadows may like the idea of having four different shades altogether in one compact. As these are baked eyeshadows, they have a drier, lightweight texture and are meant to have buildable colour pay-off, so those who like their eyeshadows to be rich, pigmented, and buttery right off the bat may not have patience with these. What I like about Mineralize Eyeshadows is that they're quite versatile because you can use them both wet and dry, so you can execute anything from sheer washes of colour to full-blown saturated colour. These seem very similar in concept and formula to Chanel's baked eyeshadow quads, so if you're a fan of those, you may be drawn to these. I actually love this colour combination; the overall warmth to the shades make it a really easy way to wear green without being bright or tacky, and the addition of more neutral shades also makes it wearable across all skintones, undertones, and eye colours.

    1. This is one of my faves, too. :) I like that it's a more earthy palette -- makes it much more wearable across skintones!

    1. I think this is one of the better performing palettes of the ones released. I'm usually not a huge fan of Mineralize Eyeshadows, but these quads are quite nice -- smoother and more pigmented in general. :)

    1. LOL! I don't reach for green eyeshadows often, but this palette is lovely -- super flattering and wearable! :)

  4. Now THESE shades I love, but they do NOT love my face. In fact, I have very similar tones on right now, and I look a bit ill, sadly. Just doesn't work for me - it's gotta be more bronze or something so I don't look like shit haha

    1. LOL! I think it depends on how you do the rest of your face. Using a brighter, warmer blush would balance out these earthy shades. :)
