Tegan and Sara: Live at Downsview Park — The Con

Here's the video I took of Tegan and Sara at Downsview Park on July 6, performing "The Con," which is their title track from, The Con. This is my favourite song of off The Con, and one of my favourite Tegan and Sara songs in general. It was the second single to be released off this album, and was definitely one of their more slow-rising hits. It features their older signature acoustic, folk-pop sound that's a little messy but perfect in its imperfection. Right from the first chord, you can hear that "The Con" features an incredible synchronicity of instruments and vocals for both twins that's rather impressive, though. This song was definitely one of the darker songs on the album (if not one of the darkest songs of their entire discography); I call the period during The Con their "dark days," and it's known that the album was written during a time of "intense emotional turmoil" for both twins.
