The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

No, this is not a music video. It is one of the official trailers for the upcoming movie, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, that's coming out this summer. I rarely ever get this excited from a trailer, but when I'm obsessed with something, you know I have to post it here and share it with y'all. I originally saw the first trailer (this is the second one) in the theatres a few weeks ago, and was so intrigued by it that I was like, "I have to read the books before this movie comes out." Because, you know, the books are always better and whatnot. So, I just finished the five books in the series in the past week (yes, they were that addictive), but the reason I'm excited for this movie, aside from the story, is that Jamie Campbell Bower is playing Jace.

Let's face it, he's basically the main reason I like the books — I mean, generally, we like the main character's love interest more than the main character (he's what Four is to the Divergent books or, more popularly, what Edward Cullen is to the Twilight series... but, you know, less annoying and way hotter). And this is one of those few times that I have to say that the casting choice is spot-on, 'cause Bower honestly embodies everything that I imagine Jace to be — from his Kurt Cobain-esque grunginess, to his lanky-but-muscular smokin' hot bod, to his deep sexy British-accented voice, to his general badass-ness. So, basically, I will watch this movie in theatres and then buy it on DVD and watch that repeatedly because the fangirl in me is obsessed with him. Like, seriously, I don't even care if the movie turns out to be crap. Of course, come August, when this movie hits theatres, Bower's fame will pretty much rise to super-stardom the way Robert Pattinson's did after Twilight, and then I'll probably get sick of him. So I shall enjoy him while I can.

Also, this trailer features Radiohead's "All I Need," which just gets me more pumped for this movie.

  1. I love that song. And well, the books! I liked them as a guilty pleasure sort of thing, for the reasons you listed. I stopped reading them because I have to get them from the library and I don't even know which one I'm on now, but...maybe I read them all? I think I read three. Or four.

    1. Right?! I never thought much of Radiohead's In Rainbows album, but I do love that song. :)

I think I picked a good time to read this series, because five of the six books have already been released (I think the sixth and final one will be out next year), so I didn't have to wait a year in between each book. I think the suspense would've driven me nuts. :P But pick up the rest of the books next time you're at the library! I haven't been to the library in ages, probably since middle school, lol. I end up spending all my money on books and make-up. :P

    1. If you like fantasy books, this is a series that's worth picking up. It's easy to read, entertaining, has a good storyline and a diverse range of characters. :)

    1. Why don't you like the werewolves? I actually don't mind the werewolves in this series. They're not like the ones in Twilight, where you have to be born into it and like, be Native. Haha, I don't even care how shitty the movie is, I'm gonna watch it like, five times. (On Tuesdays, of course. Can't afford watching this five times at full price, LOL.) Jamie Campbell Bower will make it worth it.

    2. I don't have anything against werewolves specifically. Just didn't expect to see them here for some reason. I'm tired of vamps and weres as a whole. LOL @ native Twi werewolves!

    3. LOL, to be fair, though, this series has all the supernatural species. They gots the warlocks and fairies, too. And the fairies are TOTAL ASSHOLES. It's so funny. Oh, man, love this shit.

The vampires also don't sparkle in the sun and whatever. They're more like the True Blood vamps, with like, clans and leaders. Way more bad-ass. And the werewolves don't imprint. They're also more bad-ass.
